The Astrology of Taylor Lautner and New Moon
Frenzied and devoted legions of girls descended upon theaters this past weekend to catch New Moon, the hotly-anticipated second installment of the Twilight saga. The story this time involves Edward breaking up with Bella (gasp!) and then Bella gets seduced by Jacob Black, who is actually a werewolf. It also has something to do with muscular torsos. Lots and lots of torsos. This is what I gleaned from the trailers. Surprisingly the big star of Twilight, Rob Pattinson is reduced to a bit-part in New Moon, to make room for the rise of another: Taylor Lautner who plays Jacob Black.
The Twilight Saga and Neptune
A year ago, I covered “The Astrology of Robert Pattinson and Twilight”. In that article I explored how the Sun and Moon in an eclipse opposite Stephenie Meyer’s Neptune spurred the creation of the Twilight series, and that Robert Pattinson was (and still is) experiencing transiting Neptune square his Sun as he became famous for playing Edward Cullen.
Interestingly enough, Taylor Lautner is also experiencing a Neptune transit- a conjunction to his Sun! You can see it highlighted in red in the chart below.
I noticed that I had neglected looking at the chart of Kristen Stewart, the actress who plays Bella Swan. While we can’t tell if she was having a major Neptune transit without knowing her birth time, there is something else that is curious about her general planetary placements. She was born with the Sun square Neptune, which is the same transit Robert Pattinson is currently having!
It would be great to have the birth times of all the players involved so that we could do more detailed analyses. But even without birth times, you can sometimes discern the common thread, what general planetary “signature” is behind a given topic via the common transits and natal configurations of the people involved. In the case of the Twilight phenomenon, it appears to be Neptune, and it dovetails nicely with what we purport the astrological nature of Neptune to be: that it has to do with fantasy, unreality, illusions vis-a-vis the entertainment industry and mass movements. And so you have a story about a teenage girl falling in love with vampires and werewolves with hundreds of thousands of women, young and old, spending millions of dollars at book stores and at the box office. Bizarre.

Going beyond Neptune.. merely stereotyped.. This is not just mere fantasy! Mmmm well.. I must say that I am also deeply fascinated with the whole *’Twilight’ story.. & I am not a woman.. Yes it is a LOVE story.. As a student of astrology & mythology is certainly has drawn me in.. While I also have noted the charts of the two leading protagonists.. Bella, Kristen Stewart.. & Edward, Robert Pattinson.. a modern retake or twist on ‘Romeo & Juliet’.. And wow “look at the synastry” between these two.. Moon trine Venus, both ways.. his Venus trine her Mars.. Moon-Jupiter conjunctions.. I have written a blog on all this etc referenced at my blogsite above.. while also quoting the above aspect meanings from ‘Skymates’ by Steven & Jodie Forrest.. fascinating.. Then there is Jacob, Taylor Lautner coming into the scene.. whose Aquarian Sun closeyl aligns with Kristen’s Mars in Aquarius..
Meanwhile for a more in depth analysis & insight into this whole story go to http://www.shmoop.com/twilight/themes.html outlining the basic themes & symbols of the *’Twilight’ story.. along with various essay questions…
And then there is Stephanie Meyers chart.. which I also refer to in my blog.. along with various references to *the Sabian Symbols too which reveals yet more fascinating insights into this fascinating story…
