Miley Cyrus Gets Into Trouble With Mars
Miley Cyrus is in hot water for a photo where she and her friends are making faces that appear to mock Asian people. She insists they were just silly faces they were making, not intending to make fun of anyone, noting that there was an Asian American in the photograph. Still, the Organization of Chinese Americans (OCA) and other Asian groups condemned the photo and called on Cyrus to apologize. So let’s look at what the planets were doing.
The photo surfaced on the internet on February 2nd, and the pictures were likely taken over last weekend. So this controversy is a bit of a left-over from the Mercury retrograde period, which stationed direct on January 
31st. Miley Cyrus[1] was born while Mercury was retrograde in a trine to Mars, and Mercury stationed direct while conjunct Mars, so she would have been able to resonate with that transit.
Additionally, the day before the photo was released, Mars in Capricorn perfected an opposition to Miley’s natal Mars in Cancer, highlighted in red to the right, indicating hostility and hard-feelings coming at her, conflict surrounding her. At the time of her last big photo scandal, the near-topless photo spread for Vanity Fair, Mars was approaching a conjunction with Miley’s natal Mars.
Mars may be a more sensitive planet for Miley because not only does she have Mars parallel with her Sun across the equinoxes (contra-antiscia), but she was also born 5 days before Mars stationed retrograde in Cancer. So what happened last time Mars went retrograde in Cancer, in late 2007? She broke up with Nick Jonas of the Jonas Brothers. ::barf::
Anyway, here’s the picture that is currently the talk of the town. Do you think it is racist?

What I noticed is Venus at 29* there, all the way East (as in the vernal mark), in Pisces. This is the location where Venus would later station at after having made a full retrograde. In this transit, Venus is with Uranus, just as in her natal. This makes for unusual happenings socially. This makes another angle to her Mars. They make aspects to Mercury, significator of controversy. And certainly she has a lot in store with her Moon-Pluto conjunction! I’m sure they’ll be plenty more of these, except perhaps in the future she might actually be accused of something that is authentically brutal. I just love Disney.
We got a free cable package to the Disney Channel, earlier this summer, watched Hanna Montana off and on.
The show? Not the greatest according to my daughter, but it doesn’t help matters that the show is poorly written and Disney’s screenwriters tend to portray Miley as this feisty kid with a penchant for being blundering and sharp-tongued…
With her natal Moon conjunct Pluto and Mercury in Scorpio, perhaps it’s not far from how she is in real life ? Her singing is the point of the show, and having a famous dad (Billy Ray Cyrus) doesn’t hurt either… What can we say, it’s a review that only “Mickey” would approve of !
