The Astrology of Prince Harry’s Breakup with Chelsy Davy
The current Mercury retrograde seems to really be pulling a one-two punch on Prince Harry huh? He recently split with his girlfriend Chelsy Davy, after five years of being together. Let’s take a look back through their relationship to look for some context.
When Harry Met Chelsy
It was March 2004 in Botswana. Harry[1] needed a cigarette. Chelsy[2] was more than happy to give him one of hers. 4 days later he exclaimed his love for her to friends at a campfire beside the Okavango River. Within weeks they already went on a holiday together and started dating.
At the time of the beginning of their courtship, Saturn was crossing Harry’s Descendant. Chelsy was the personification of that transit to Harry. Why Saturn, you ask?
Unfortunately for Harry, after the traumatic loss of his mother and living in the shadow of his brother in nearly every respect, he was likely viewed as a disappointment to the reserved Royal family. He dabbled with drugs and alcohol and was dismissed as a partying playboy Prince, but he needed love. With Chelsy, he was finally able to be shown affection and adoration by someone else.
While she shared his love of nightlife, according to Royal sources, she also tamed him, turned him into more of an adult. When Harry was withdrawn from Iraq he was devastated. An earlier version of Harry might have turned back to his old habits, but Chelsy had a hand in his developing maturity.
But she was able to explain to him that he must not see the Iraq thing as a setback. That a dignified and grown-up response was what was required from him. That he could bemoan not being sent but show his responsible nature by saying he understood that his presence would put his comrades at increased risk. She was, literally, the only one from whom he could accept that advice.
That’s pretty much the counsel of Saturn. To be a grown up. To take responsibility.
Harry and Chelsy Break Up
A few days ago the world found out that the couple was no longer together via Facebook, on January 24th, 2009. 
It is not surprising to see that now, at the time of their breakup, Saturn is once again involved. Harry’s natal Sun and Chelsy’s Mars are conjunct, indicating impulsion and passion – a thrilling but also potentially troubling configuration. The more negative side of this configuration was recently activated by Saturn’s transit to Harry’s Sun and Chelsy’s Mars, highlighted in red to the right, indicating a depressing time for the both of them. Harry was already recently in trouble under this transit with the army and the public over some racist comments he made. Except now he has to go through with this alone, without Chelsy by his side. This is probably reflective of how many more lessons Harry may have to learn from Saturn before his Saturn Return.
