Around 2 am on January 3rd, 2009, some cops pulled over a speeding driver in Normal, Illinois, and it’s Sam Shepard! Completely smashed! And so he was arrested, brought to jail, posted bond and is waiting to go to court.^[1] So that sucked. How did the stars look that night?

As you might have guessed, not great for Sam Shepard^[2] ! What else should you expect when Saturn is backing up into a square with your Mars within 5 arc minutes? Neptune is exactly on his Moon too, and he had twice the legal amount of alcohol in his bloodstream. Who knows what’s going on in his life right now, but sometimes when Neptune isn’t bringing about transcendental wonders, visions and relationships that are just too good to be true, he’s hanging out with booze. While Neptune was conjunct his Moon, the Moon itself was about to oppose his Neptune in just a few hours, but before it did, it hit something else.

Weirdly, the Moon was conspicuously placed at 29 Pisces at the time of the arrest, very close to the star Scheat. Scheat is supposed to be about “Imprisonment, murder, suicide, drowning, extreme misfortune”^[3] , or in other words “bad”. Granted, this arrest didn’t involve murder, suicide, or drowning, but “imprisonment” and “extreme misfortune” were definitely accurate, and plus it was just the Moon. Anyway, the Scheat certainly hit the fan. It was a rather Scheatty night. Can I get away with another Scheat joke? No? Damn. Don’t drink and drive!
